M11 junction 10 to 8 and A120 Dunmow West to M11 junction 8

Highways England plan to carry out safety improvement works on the M11 between junction 10 to 8 and on the A120 between Dunmow West and junction 8.

The aim is to enable some tree felling works for ash trees that are affected by Ash Die Back.

The plan is to complete this work over 3 nights on Saturday 3, Sunday 4 June and Wednesday 7 June, weather conditions permitting.

Closures and diversions

To carry out the work safely, they will need to close the M11 between junctions 10 and 8, and the A120 westbound between Dunmow West Interchange and the M11 junction 8 as follows:

  • M11 junction 10 to 8 southbound – Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 June between 9pm and 5am. Traffic will be diverted via the A505, Newmarket Road A10 and A120 and re-join the M11 at Birchanger Green Roundabout.
  • A120 Dunmow West Interchange to M11 junction 8 westbound – Wednesday 7 June between 9pm and 5am. Traffic will be diverted off the A120 at Dunmow West Interchange onto the B1256 to re-join the A120 / M11 at Birchanger Green Roundabout
