Following the start of a new conservation habitats programme in 2020, a second phase is being planned for areas across Epping Forest to start in 2024.

The proposed work is an extension of the first phase, continuing the restoration of wood pasture and management of heathlands and grassland. This will be done through different methods of habitat management including grazing, machine cutting, sensitive selected tree thinning and specialist vegetation management. New visitor information boards and posts are also proposed.

This work is proposed across sites spanning between Epping and Wanstead.
